Bodycote Greenhey have recently invested in a new ABB 6-axis robot at their Headquarters in the UK. |
This high load carrying capacity manipulator allows thermally sprayed coatings to be applied on even larger complex geometry parts. The robot has a load carrying capacity of 120Kg and a large working envelope that enables it to cover surfaces of up to 6 metres in length. Heavyweight guns such as the HVOF systems can now be programmed to move at high speed over complicated shapes (such as Land Based Gas Turbine Blades) while depositing uniform coating thickness’. |
The Robot is housed in a purpose built 5m x 5m acoustic spray booth and has full coating capability - HVOF, Plasma, Thermal powder and wire. |
